Established in 1888 Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) is one of Germany's longest established and largest social welfare organisations. ASB currently has a portfolio of over 100 projects in relief, rehabilitation and community based development. ASB entered Indonesia following the May 2006 earthquake and has established projects in emergency relief; reconstruction and training; information outreach; disaster preparedness and livelihoods sectors.
ASB is currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified and committed individuals for the following position:
Human Resources Officer
Location : Yogyakarta Office
Duration: 2 months initial contract
Starting Date : As soon as possible
Summary of job profile/responsibilities:
· To provide support to managers on recruitment for national
staff teams : this will include preparing advertisement, advertising;
shortlisting and interviewing.
· To advise management on the application of Labor law and
ASB Human Resources policy as required, and to actively support
management on applying these in recruitment. This is include developing
policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management,
equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management.
· Contract Management : to prepare contracts and change of
contract letters, to monitor the expiry dates of temporary and fixed
term contracts and timesheets for daily workers, then update contract
lists and liaise with payroll on payment of staff.
· To verify correctness of all staff payments i.e. overtime,
medical, or any other staff entitlements before goes for final approval.
· Documenting and checking attendance, leave, sick leave and
maintaining and updating insurance for all eligible staff (including
sub-contracted staff such us laborers).
· Assist in staff development training as appropriate.
· Serve as a link between management and employee by handling
questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve
work-related problems.
· Applying, process and obtain all necessary visas for
expatriates.
Key requirements:
1. Minimum S1 preferably with Psychology or Law background
2. Previous experience in a similar role preferred
3. Good written and spoken English and Bahasa essential. The post
holder needs to be able to accurately translate documents between
English and Bahasa; be able to interpret and conduct interviews and
explain HR procedures to staff.
4. Ability to understand and interpret organizational policy
5. Good presentation and interpersonal skills. Able to get on well
with others.
6. Able to multi-task and work to achieve deadlines as required
7. Willingness to travel as and when required
8. Able to work independently and under own initiative as well as
in a team in a multicultural environment
9. Qualified individuals with no previous NGO background will be
considered
